TPT ACE Project

Project Setting

The Adherence, Completion and Events – TB Preventive Therapy (ACE – TPT) is a 5-year cooperative agreement between the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) and the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In Zimbabwe, the project is implemented through UZT, with a buy-in of US$1.5 million over 5 years.

The intervention supports a comprehensive evaluation of initiation, adherence, completion and adverse events associated with TPT among people living with HIV (PLHIV), children as well as household contacts of people with TB. The support also seeks to strengthen TPT and implementation of TB contact investigation, documentation and use of locally generated data for decision making.

In Zimbabwe, the intervention is being implemented in Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland West across 8 districts.

As of 2nd Quarter 2024, the project is conducting data cleaning and validation to evaluate TPT implementation among PLHIV in the 12 PEPFAR supported facilities.
